Many agree that there are now too many museums in the world. Others argue that there are as many reasons to create a museum as not to. The vast majority just don’t care. Most visitors are tourists. Yet the museums perform. They outdo each other in creativity and originality, aiming to lure in the masses. They succeed at luring them in, but what do they ultimately get out of it?

That’s the beginning of the story, but it’s just the tip of the iceberg.
